Former Greenock Morton star accused of driving car at rival club employee in stadium car park

A former Greenock Morton player appeared in court accused of driving a car at an employee from a rival club in a stadium car park.

Michael Tidster, 30, now plays for Kelty Hearts FC in the Lowlands, but began his career with Celtic.

He was a footballer with the Inverclyde club when the alleged attack happened.

Morton were playing away at Ayr United's Somerset Park stadium in April 2019, when Tidster is accused of deliberately driving a car directly at an employee of a rival club and injuring the staffer, within the car park of the stadium.

He pleaded not guilty and will appear again at Ayr Sheriff Court later this month.
