Former Glasgow University lecturer dies at home as police appeal to trace relatives

A former Glasgow University lecturer has sadly been found dead in his west end home, prompting police to issue an appeal to trace his relatives.

76-year-old Peter Davies recently died at his west end address on Julian Court.

Peter previously lectured in French at the university.

Police believe he may have had family in Wales and say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

A statement released by the Greater Glasgow Police Division this afternoon confirmed: "Police Service of Scotland is appealing for the assistance of the public in tracing relatives of a 76 year old male who recently died.

"Peter Davies was found dead within his home at Julian Court on 23/11/2020.

"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

"It is believed that Mr Davies had family in Wales.

"He was previously a lecturer in the French language at Glasgow University.

"Anyone who has knowledge of Mr. Davies relatives is asked to contact the Administration Department, London Road Police Station on 0141-532-4681. Monday to Friday 0800 – 1600hrs."
