Former Georgia OT, NFL first round pick Isaiah Wilson says ‘I’m done with football’ in a tweet that has since been deleted

Former Georgia Bulldog Isaiah Wilson’s short NFL career has been a whirlwind of off-the-field mishaps.

The No. 29 overall pick was drafted in 2020 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans and in his first season, the Brooklyn, N.Y., native was put on the COVID-19 list twice, once during training camp and another time in October, and only saw the field for four snaps before being added to the team’s non-football injury list in December.

The rookie right tackle also had two run-ins with the law in his first NFL season. Wilson was given a trespass warning when Tennessee State University police broke up an off-campus party during training camp and in September, he was arrested and charged with a DUI after running his car into a wall.

Wilson sent this tweet on Monday.

The tweet was quickly deleted, but all signs point towards Wilson not returning as a Titan.

At Georgia, Wilson was all game and one of the top tackles in the SEC before heading to Nashville last year.

He played 25 games for the Bulldogs and earned AP ALL-SEC second team honors in 2019.

It’s hard to put a finger on what exactly is going on between the team and Wilson, but Titans general manager Jon Robinson addressed his status during a team press conference on Tuesday and said he had not spoke with Wilson.

The Titans signed Wilson to a four-year, $11.6 million contract in August.
