Fulham may already be relegated, but they will be keen to "put down a marker" against Cardiff City on Saturday amid their bid for survival.
That's the view of former Fulham and West Ham defender Tony Gale, who believes that Cardiff beating the Whites to automatic promotion from the Championship last season will still be in the minds of the players when they take to the field at Craven Cottage.
Fulham may already be down, but they could have a big say on who joins them in the Championship, depending on the result when the Bluebirds visit west London this weekend.

And after winning their last two games - against Everton and Bournemouth - Gale believes a rejuvenated Fulham side could cause problems for Cardiff as they battle to try and stay in the top flight, with Neil Warnock's side three points behind Brighton in 17th, with an inferior goal difference.
"Depending how Brighton get on, we could effectively relegate Cardiff on Saturday, but I don't think the players will be reading too much into that - all they will be caring about is the three points," he said, writing in a column for the Fulham website .
"Whoever you're playing, it's always about the three points. But with this one, we'll want to put down a marker on Cardiff because you do remember what's gone on the previous season, without a doubt.
"They've had a better season than us, and that reflects in the points tally. I think we are better individually than Cardiff and we play better football, but they've shown so much resilience and fight in their play this season that they're still in with a shout of staying up with three games to go.

"You know full well that Neil Warnock will have his team fired up. They'll want to push Brighton all the way to the final day, so we have to be ready for that come Saturday."
