Former footballer Gareth Bale attends Adele's last show of Las Vegas residency

Adele has put on huge performances during her Las Vegas residency over the last few months, and managed to bag a football superstar as an attendee to her final show.

The Tottenham-born singer performed 34 shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Saturday was set to be the finale of her Weekends with Adele stint, which began in November last year.

Grime artist Stormzy, country star and regular Las Vegas performer Shania Twain, and talk show host James Corden were among many celebrities to head to Sin City to watch her performances over the last few months.

And the number of famous faces to get tickets at the 4,100-capacity venue continued to rise when former Tottenham, Real Madrid and Wales forward Gareth Bale was in attendance on Saturday.

Bale, who retired from professional football at the age of 33 in January, spent six years at Adele's hometown club before a mega-money move to Real Madrid in 2013.

Wales' all-time leading goalscorer spent the final few months of his illustrious career at nearby MLS club Los Angeles FC and decided to make the short flight to Nevada to see the Someone Like You songstress in action.

Adele's guitarist Peter Randall shared a photo of him with Bale after the residency's final show on Saturday, with the former footballer rocking a plain white t-shirt and beige chinos look for the concert.

An Adele fan page share the image, with the caption: "Welsh Football Star Gareth Bale was in attendance at last night's #WeekendsWithAdele show! Adele's guitarist Peter Randall shared this pic from after last night's show!"

Adele delighted her devoted fans during the last show of the Sin City residency - which was initially postponed in January 2021 for coronavirus and logistic issues - by revealing she'll be returning to the same venue for another set of performances later this year

In a video shared on Twitter, the 34-year-old said: "Playing to 4,000 people for 34 nights is not enough and I know that, I know it's not enough. So I am coming back."

Fans began to scream in delight as she added: "I'll be back for a few weeks in June and I'm gonna film it and I'm going to release it to make sure that anyone who wants to see the show can.

"And then I'll be back from the summer, back in August, until the end of fall."

She went on to praise her fans and thank them for creating "such a f***ing vibe" during her shows.
