Former football commit Aubrey Solomon slams Michigan, then apologizes

Former Michigan verbal commit Aubrey Solomon has had an unusual recruitment. But it took its most interesting turn Thursday.

While at practices for the U.S. Army All-American Game in San Antonio this week, the defensive tackle was captured in a Periscope video making a profane comment about U-M.

As reaction flamed on Twitter, Solomon posted an apology, stating, "I have some growing up to do." He wrote of U-M that he loves "everything it has to offer beyond football" and ended the tweet with (hashtag)GoBlue.

Michigan held a satellite camp at Solomon's school, Leesburg (Ga.) Lee County, last June. He committed during a visit to Ann Arbor in June. But in August, the nation's No. 2-ranked defensive tackle and five-star prospect changed his mind and decommitted, telling a Georgia recruiting site that U-M mistakenly sent him a flyer thanking him for attending a recruiting event he did not attend. He also implied in his decommitment post that his mother was not as much of a factor in his initial decision as he would have liked.

U-M has continued recruiting Solomon _ he even took an official visit to Ann Arbor for the Maryland game _ but many see him leaning toward Alabama or his home school of Georgia. He took an official visit to Alabama for the Iron Bowl weekend and has his final three officials scheduled in January for USC, Auburn and Florida.
