Former Falcons special teams ace Justin Bethel signs with Ravens

The Falcons special teams unit took a couple of hits in free agency today. First, former wide receiver/kick return specialist Marvin Hall signed with the Bears after Atlanta allowed him to hit the open market. Now, they’re also losing special teams ace Justin Bethel, who is signing a two-year deal with the Ravens.

Bethel signed a one-year deal with the Falcons last March. He was a three-time Pro Bowler for his special teams work with the Cardinals. He played 259 snaps last season, none of them on defense.

Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh is a special teams expert, so it’s an obvious fit for them. The Falcons will need to reload for their own unit, especially at gunner.
