Former Falcons HC Dan Quinn shows interest in vacant college job

Former Falcons head coach, Dan Quinn, has reportedly reached out to the University of Arizona about their vacant head coach position.

According to a report from Jason Scheer of the Wildcat Authority from 24/7 Sports, sources familiar with the university have stated that Quinn has expressed interest in joining the PAC-12 program.

The Wildcats have only managed two winning seasons since 2015 and parted ways with Kevin Sumlin, who won only nine games in his three years with the program, following a 70-7 loss to Arizona State. In 2020, the Wildcats ended their season with a record of 0-5, their first winless season in school history.

While Quinn is considered a long-shot for the Arizona job, it sounds like he wants to take the college route before making his return to the NFL. Quinn’s leadership and love of slogans would work best when used on college kids who come and go over a short time period, as opposed to seasoned NFL veterans.

Not only has Quinn shown interest in Arizona, he has also been linked to the vacant Auburn job after the Tigers parted ways with Gus Malzahn this past weekend. Quinn has experience within the SEC due to his time as a defensive coordinator at the University of Florida from 2011 to 2012.
