Former FAI boss John Delaney was snapped for the first time on Tuesday since the full revelations of the soccer body’s financial crisis were laid bare.
The controversial 52-year-old attended the funeral of former Waterford United/Waterford FC player and manager Johnny Matthews.
The Coventry man, who joined in the 1965/1966 season, made 327 appearances for the club over a 13-year period and scored 156 goals. The 73-year-old collected a record six League of Ireland medals with the Blues and one with Limerick FC.
And during a distinguished 22-year career the talented player also lined out for Longford, Cork United, Newcastlewest and Longford Town before becoming a referee.

Delaney walked away with a severance deal worth €462,000 when he formally resigned from the FAI in September.
The FAI’s AGM in Dublin on Sunday heard it needs an immediate cash injection of €18million to stay afloat.
