Former Everton star Tim Cahill shares heartwarming video meeting a blind young Arsenal supporter

Everton great Tim Cahill has shared an adorable video meeting a young fan who lost his sight.

Mikey Poulli was born fully sighted but due to a rare eye condition the Arsenal fan is now blind.

The 7-year-old can be seen touching the former midfielder's face in the heartwarming post.

Cahill took to Instagram to share the video of the poignant moments with the brave youngster.

In the clip Cahill, who announced his retirement from football last month after a 23-year playing career, can be seen presenting the child with his World Cup jersey.

The 39-year-old helped the young footballer feel the name and number on the back of the signed Socceroos shirt.

The Australian wrote an emotional caption with the footage, Cahill said: "Had the pleasure of meeting this young superstar Mikey Poulli and hear about his story that has inspired me to do my bit to raise awareness for him.

"Mikey was was born fully sighted, blinded by the age of 7 to a rare eye disease, rod cone dystrophy.

"Hopefully one day there will be a cure for him. Feel blessed to to help kids chase their DREAMS."
