Former Emmerdale heart-throb Paul Opacic bags villain role in Coronation Street

A former Emmerdale heartthrob is joining Coronation Street as a new villain on the cobbles.

Actor Paul Opacic, 55, will be yet another star who has appeared in both ITV soaps. Paul’s Emmerdale character Steve Marchant was married to Kim Tate with the romance, unsurprisingly, ending in disaster.

The actor left Emmerdale back in 1999. Since then, you might have spotted Paul in Doctors, Holby City, Hollyoaks and The Bill.

According to our colleagues at The Mirror, Paul, will take on the role of Corey Brent's entrepreneur dad, Stefan.

Paul has already begun filming the scenes and his character is set to cause some serious trouble when he appears on the show later this month.

An insider said: "If viewers think Corey is bad, wait to see what kind of monster created him."
