Former Emmerdale fave Mike Parr loses out to soap co-star for BBC role

Former Emmerdale star Mike Parr has lost out to a one-time soap co-star for a part in a new BBC drama.

Anthony Quinlan took the part in London Kills that Mike was after in a rather awkward turn of events.

Known for playing feuding brothers Ross and Pete Barton, Mike and Anthony have remained best friends since leaving Emmerdale.

The Metro reports, Mike and Anthony were at Mecca Bingo’s Live from Studio M when they discussed their recent auditions.

“I’ve just done a little job down in London called London Kills,” Anthony revealed.

“I also auditioned for it but didn’t get it. And yes, it was for the same part. I actually told him about the audition,” Mike added.

Anthony laughed: “That’s the thing, we go up against each other for a few things. I’d rather he get it than someone else.

“We always give each other a little leg up if we are auditioning for something. I’d rather he get it than someone else.”

It appears there's no hard feelings between the two former Emmerdale stars.

London Kills features Full Monty star Hugo Speer, Sharon Small and Bailey Patrick with the drama revolving round a murder investigation team based in London.
