  • The BRCA1 gene significantly increases an individual's risk of developing certain types of cancer.
  • Appearing on BBC Breakfast on Tuesday (17 March), the 42-year-old reflected on her life since the surgery.
  • She stated that while initially finding it "daunting" to share her story, she is now glad she did and has been raising awareness for the BRCA1 gene.
