Former Eagles special teams ace Chris Maragos announces his retirement

Former Philadelphia Eagles safety and special teams standout Chris Maragos hasn’t played in an NFL game since 2017, and now one of the Birds more revered specialist is calling it a career.

Maragos has been recovering from a non-contact knee injury that has cost him the bulk of the past two seasons.

Maragos was placed on the physically unable to perform list to start the 2018 season while recovering from the knee injury, and the Birds released him in February. Maragos didn’t play at all during the 2018 season after tearing his ACL/PCL in 2017 against the Carolina Panthers and he had a second surgery on the knee last December.
