Former Eagles’ DE Michael Bennett suspended 1-week by Patriots for conduct detrimental

Former Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Michael Bennett is facing disciplinary issues from his current employer after Ian Rapoport reported that the Patriots have suspended the veteran pass rusher.

Bennett confirmed the suspension, telling ESPN’s Jordan Schultz, that he and his position coach had a disagreement over playing time.

Just spoke with #Pats DE Michael Bennett, who provided this statement to ESPN re his one-week suspension: “On Friday, I had a philosophical disagreement with my position coach that has led to my suspension. I apologize to my teammates for any distraction this may have caused.”

Bennett played 11 snaps last week and only has 2.5 sacks through six games this season. Bennett has also only played in 35.7% of the Patriots defensive snaps according to the Providence Journal.
