Former Eagles assistant Jim Schwartz hired as defensive coordinator by the Browns

Jim Schwartz is returning to the role of full-time defensive coach, inking a deal to join the Browns as the team’s defensive coordinator according to Dianna Russini.

Schwartz won a Super Bowl as a defensive coordinator under Doug Pederson with the Philadelphia Eagles and spent the past two seasons working as a senior consultant with the Titans.

Schwartz beat out Brian Flores, Dennard Wilson, and Sean Desai for the job and will look to improve a Browns defense that was middle of the pack in 2022.
