Former Eagles 1st-round pick Jeremy Maclin announces his retirement

Jeremy Maclin is as talented a wide receiver that you’ll ever see in the NFL, but injuries and attrition have taken their toll on the former Eagles star. According to Ian Rapoport, the former first-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles is set to retire.

Maclin chose his wife’s baby shower to break the news.

Maclin, a two-time consensus All-American at Missouri, was the 19th pick of the 2009 NFL Draft by Andy Reid and the Philadelphia Eagles. In 8 NFL seasons spent with the Eagles, Chiefs, and Ravens, Maclin played in 114 games, totaled 514 career receptions, for 6,835 yards, and 49 career touchdowns.
