Former First Minister Arlene Foster has been appointed as a director of a peace-building charity.
The ex-DUP leader has joined the board of all-island organisation Co-operation Ireland.
The charity aims to build a shared society by addressing legacy issues from the Troubles and facilitate dialogue between people from different backgrounds.
Mrs Foster said: "I have long admired the work carried out by Co-operation Ireland and am delighted to be joining the board.
"I strongly believe in engagement, discussion and debate and look forward to working with the chairman and my fellow board members as we try and chart the way through challenging times."
Directors of Co-operation Ireland serve on a voluntary basis and are drawn from across the community.
Its board members include former DUP leader Peter Robinson, ex-Taoiseach John Bruton, Baroness Margaret Ritchie and former PSNI chief constable Sir George Hamilton.
Chairman Dr Christopher Moran said: "I have worked with Arlene on behalf of Co-operation Ireland throughout her time as a minister and First Minister at Stormont.
"Arlene will be of great assistance to Co-operation Ireland in the resolution of issues that lie ahead in order to fulfil Co-operation Ireland's mission, aims and objectives."
Mrs Foster stood down as DUP leader and Stormont First Minister earlier this year following an internal revolt against her leadership.
In July the former First Minister joined the news channel GB News as a regular contributor.
