Former Dundalk midfielder Jordan Flores completes move to Hull City

Jordan Flores has completed his move to Hull City from Dundalk having signed an 18-month deal.

Flores, 25, is the Tigers' first signing in the January transfer window and the club will have the option of keeping him for another year if he does well.

“We’re really pleased,” said Hull head coach Grant McCann. “Jordan will bring good balance to the team, being left footed.

“He’s different to what we’ve already got in midfield and will provide good competition for places.

“He can score a screamer and shoot from distance with his left foot and right foot. He can open up things and see passes. He is very good in terms of putting forwards in.

“We’re bringing him in for his creativity and he’s quite versatile in the way he plays.

“He’s a really good character and an excellent lad in how he goes about his business.”

Previously linked with MK Dons and Burton Albion, Flores was a free agent after completing his two-year contract with the Lilywhites, the club he joined from Wigan in January 2019.

Flores' wonder strike in the League loss to Shamrock Rovers last February went viral world-wide, earning him a place on the 2020 Puskas Award longlist.

More recently the former Oldham player scored against Arsenal in the Europa League and left Oriel Park having won the Premier Division title, the FAI Cup, the EA Sports Cup, the President's Cup and the Unite the Union Cup with the Lilywhites.
