Former Dragons’ Den star Norah Casey has been rushed to hospital after suffering from a bad dose of long Covid.
The entrepreneur took to her social media account to update her followers from her hospital bed.
Norah apologised to those she has ‘let down’ due to the sudden illness and said she hoped she would ‘be home in no time’.
The magazine publisher said: “A collective apology to all those I let down suddenly for various engagements and interviews over the past week. And especially for the ‘dog ate my homework’ excuses.”
The television presenter said she had now been in hospital for a week after she became ‘frightened’ by symptoms concerning her heart, brain and lungs.
She said: “I am in hospital for a week now with long covid. In truth I was a bit frightened by the symptoms, especially my heart (which was misbehaving badly), my lungs and my brain! Top three worry bits (for all of us I think).”
Norah said her condition deteriorated after contracting the virus six weeks ago.
She said: “I had Covid only six weeks ago so hopefully it will be a short spell of #longcovid. #MagsCasey and #SaintJude are on the case so will be home in no time. And normal service will resume”.
People were quick to wish the star a speedy recovery.
RTE’s Miriam O’Callahan said: “Sorry to hear this Norah - I hope you are feeling much better and that you are back to your wonderful self very soon.”
While another person said: “Dearest Norah …. Take more than long anything to floor you for longer than a week or so ! Prayers Love and Huge Hugs winding their way to you ! All will be well abs hurry back to the bundle of energy that is YOU”.
A third said: “Oh dear I am hearing of more and more people suffering with long covid recently,take care of yourself and hope you have a speedy recovery”.
