Former Dolphins tight end Clay lands in Arizona

Well that didn’t take long. It took “Big Play Clay” just four days to find a new team, as the talent deprived Arizona Cardinals agreed to terms on a 1-year contract with a maximum value of $3.25M with former Miami Dolphin TE Charles Clay.

Clay, who was cut by AFC East rival Buffalo, turned 30-years old last week and looks to prove he’s still got something left in the tank after arguably the worst season of his pro career.

A 6th-round selection by the Dolphins in 2011, Clay will now compete with Ricky Seals-Jones and Jermaine Gresham for a starting role on a Cardinals team that needs all help it can get at the skill positions.

With 2018 1st-round quarterback Josh Rosen looking for a rebound sophomore season, Clay has a chance to become a valued safety blanket for the young passer.
