Former Dolphins receiver Leonte Carroo suspended 4 games

The NFL has not been kind to former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Leonte Carroo. The Dolphins selected Carroo in the 3rd-round of the 2016 NFL Draft as the 86th overall selection. When the Dolphins drafted Carroo, the team’s leadership oozed about his versatility and potential — it was clear the Dolphins thought highly of him when they traded three picks to move up and draft him. Yet in three seasons, Carroo has logged only 12 receptions for 192 yards and two touchdowns.

Failing to get production in one of the worst offenses in football may not be a huge indictment of Carroo’s potential — but struggling to even get on the field is.

And now? Things have gone from bad to worse. Carroo, who the Dolphins cut in March, has been suspended for the first four games of the 2019 season according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

Carroo was going to have a hard enough time trying to get enough attention to latch on with a team before this suspension. An unproductive bust who now can’t dress for the first four games of the upcoming season is almost certainly the final nail in the coffin of Carroo’s NFL career.
