Former Dolphins offensive guard Josh Sitton retires

Veteran offensive guard Josh Sitton played just one game for the Miami Dolphins in 2018 before the team cut him loose and wished him well. Now, it is Sitton’s turn to say farewell, as he’s shutting down his pro football career after 11 seasons split between Green Bay, Chicago and Miami.

Sitton’s announcement came on a radio call on ESPN Madison, a call he fielded just hours after his wife gave birth to the couple’s son. It’s an exciting time for Sitton, who will now look to move on to the next chapter in life after earning just over $52M during his 11-year career in the NFL.

Sitton, who tore his rotator cuff in Miami’s Week One victory in Miami over the Tennessee Titans, will count for $2M in dead cap against Miami’s salary cap in 2019.

A Jacksonville native and a UCF graduate, Sitton’s resume includes 4 Pro Bowls and a First Team All-Pro designation in 2014.
