Former Dolphins executive Mike Tannenbaum: Murray is 3rd best 2019 QB

Former Dolphins executive Mike Tannenbaum has finally been spotted! After he was unceremoniously booted from running the Dolphins by owner Stephen Ross, Tannenbaum took some time to lay low. Until now. Tannenbaum joined NFL Live today on ESPN to talk about some of the prospects of the 2019 NFL Draft and he didn’t pull any punches with his first hot take of the season.

Tannenbaum declared Oklahoma’s Kyler Murray, the consensus top passer, was this year’s 3rd rated quarterback on account of his size.

It will be interesting in the lead up to the Draft – and immediately afterwards – to find out exactly what those in the building for the Dolphins feel about Murray and his pro prospects vs. the impressions given by Tannenbaum.

Could Tannenbaum’s stance be indicative of how the Dolphins feel? It’s unlikely, given Chris Grier’s scouting pedigree, that Tannenbaum rubbed off on him too much.

Regardless, considering Tannenbaum’s affection for big names and splashy moves, it’s surprising to hear he’s so low on Kyler Murray. Tannenbaum’s top five quarterbacks on the segment?

Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins
Missouri’s Drew Lock
Oklahoma’s Kyler Murray
Duke’s Daniel Jones
West Virginia’s Will Grier
