Former Miami Dolphins cornerback Vontae Davis was found dead in his grandmother’s home in Broward County, Fla., according to reports.
Davis was 35.

Chester Frazier, a former Illinois basketball player at the time when Davis was a football player for the Illini, first broke the news on social media:

Later, CBS News Miami reported that police were investigating a death Monday at a Southwest Ranches home owned by Adaline Davis, the grandmother of Vontae Davis. 7News reported that police say a male was found deceased at the home and no foul play was involved.
The Davie Police Department confirmed Monday afternoon that the deceased individual was Davis.

The Dolphins selected Davis with the No. 25 overall selection of the 2009 NFL draft and he played his first three seasons with the team. Miami traded Davis ahead of the 2012 season and he found his stride with the Indianapolis Colts, earning two Pro Bowl nods in six years with the team.
Davis finished his career with one game as a member of the Buffalo Bills, memorably retiring from the sport at halftime of a Week 2 game.
