Former Dolphins bust Dion Jordan facing a 10-game suspension

Former Miami Dolphins bust Dion Jordan is facing yet another suspension from the NFL, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, this time for 10 games. Jordan, who the Dolphins traded up to No. 3 to select in the 2013 NFL Draft, seemed poised to turn his pro career around after Miami cut its losses in March of 2017 — but things haven’t materialized that way.

Jordan, one of the Dolphins’ all-time busts, would latch on in Seattle and log four sacks in five games during the 2017 season, suggesting he had himself in order and was ready to live up to his potential. But Jordan faced another disappointing season in 2018 and shortly thereafter logged three positive tests for Adderall in a four-week span in an effort to cope with some trying family issues. Jordan had been previously cleared for the usage of Adderall but his exemption through the league had expired, resulting in the positive tests and subsequent violation this winter.

It’s a frustrating turn of events for a young man trying to keep his affairs in order, but also the latest in a string of lapses of judgement that will make it difficult for teams to ever really trust Jordan as a part of their organization moving forward.

A free agent, Jordan is hoping to nail down a team to play for in 2019, though he’ll have to sit out the first 10 games of the season before being allowed to suit up.
