Former Dolphin Cameron Wake eager to prove himself all over again

One of the things that made Cameron Wake such a joy to watch here in Miami was just how tenacious he was. Wake found stardom pretty quickly here in South Florida, but it never changed him. Always one of the hardest workers in the room, always leading by example, Wake was a model professional.

Wake has up and moved on with his career, he signed a 3-year, $20M contract with the Titans last week. The media in Nashville got to meet Cam for the first time yesterday and they’ve quickly found out what Dolphins fans and media have known for quite a while: Wake is special.

“If I had nickel for every time (he’s been written off) I’d probably go buy a team,” said Wake during his introductory presser.

“It is not necessarily proving people wrong. I do what I do for people who believe. I don’t do it for the doubters, I do it for the people who believe in me…you have to hit the reset button and go back at it and continue to be myself and that’s gotten me where I am. And it’s not going to change either.”

It will certainly be odd to see Wake in another set of colors this season and beyond. Yet Wake deserves every ounce of support for what he gave to the Dolphins. And at this point, Miami fans know better than to doubt him, too.
