Former Devro chief executive Peter Page has been appointed chairman designate of Carr's , the agriculture and engineering group.
Page, who joins the board as a non-executive director in November, will become chairman when Chris Holmes stands down at the Carlisle firm's annual meeting on 7 January.
The new CEO has international business experience and knowledge of the agricultural sector. He was chief executive officer of Devro, one of the leading manufacturers of collagen casings for the food industry, and previously worked for Aviagen. During Page's 11-year tenure at Devro, based at Moodiesburn, near Glasgow, he revitalised the Scottish business, transforming the company's manufacturing capabilities on an international scale until he left in February 2018.

Carr's manufactures and supplies products and solutions with market leading brands in agriculture and engineering, supplying customers in over 50 countries. Its agriculture division manufactures and supplies feed blocks and supplementation products for livestock, distributes farm machinery and runs a UK network of rural stores for the farming community.
