Former Dalbeattie High School pupil rounds off 2021 with two national equestrian success

A former Dalbeattie High School pupil and Stewartry Pony Club member has rounded off her year with two great equestrian wins.

Lynne Macleod, now based in Cheltenham, riding her Lusitano gelding, Hermes has won national championships in not just one, but two disciplines.

They are the advanced national champions for working equitation, with points gained at national competitions throughout the season all around the UK. Working equitation is a three-phase sport with dressage, obstacles and speed, all of which at advanced level are completed one handed.

Lynne has also been invited to train with the GB squad and hopes to be selected for the World Championships in Paris next year.

To top off the year the pair also won the British Dressage associated championship for Lusitanos at Prix St George level.
