Former Corrie star Paula Willamson who married Charles Bronson found dead

Former Coronation Street actress Paula Williamson who married Charles Bronson has been found dead.

Paula, 38, was found dead at a home in her native Stoke-On-Trent earlier today.

Staffordshire Police confirmed Paula had died and her body had been found at a house in Gordon Avenue, Sneyd Green - reports Stoke-On-Trent Live.

A statement from the force read: "A woman from Stoke-on-Trent who was found dead this morning (July 29) has been named as Paula Williamson, aged 38.

"Paula’s body was found in a house on Gordon Avenue, Sneyd Green, at around 7am.

"Next of kin have been informed. The family have asked for their right to privacy to allow them to grieve at this difficult time."

Paula married renowned criminal Charles Bronson in 2017 in a prison ceremony that she described as being like 'any other wedding'.

The couple never consummated their marriage and Paula was set to annul their union on these grounds.

Paula told the Daily Star how Bronson sobbed like a “chubby cry baby” when he was turned down for parole late last year.

She said: “He has thousands of fans who look up to him and think he’s this tough gangster type.

“Well he’s not this hard geezer – if anything he’s a frail little old man.

“At his parole hearing he started crying when he found out he’d been turned down. He also blubbed at our wedding – he’s soft.”

Paula, 38, recently separated from the 65-year-old, who grew up in Ellesmere Port and is famed for his muscle-bound physique.

She told The Daily Star: “Charles isn’t buff any more. He’s lost loads of muscle mass and has saggy skin – I’m glad I never had to have sex with him.

“I used to visit and spend £20 on lunch in the canteen for him.

“He’d scoff eight pasties in a row then go back to his cell for dinner.”

"A post mortem will take place to establish the cause of death but the death is not being treated as suspicious. A report is now being prepared for the Coroners.
