Former Corrie star Katie McGlynn gets 'dirty pics' all the time as she opens up on online dating

Former Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn has opened up on her experience of online dating while in the spotlight.

The Rochdale actress starred as Sinead Tinker - later Osbourne - in the ITV soap from 2016 before making a heartbreaking exit last year.

Now starring in Hollyoaks, Katie has spoken about how she finds it "difficult" to meet men but does get people messaging her and sending 'dirty pics'.

“I find it difficult to meet men anyway, so with a pandemic and social distancing I’m knackered," the 27-year-old told The Sun.

"I am on Raya, but it’s just not doing it for me because I want to meet someone face to face and have that chemistry."

But her soap and TV fame can often have a negative effect.

"People slide into my DMs all the time, but I don’t reply because I don’t know what’s going through their heads or what their intentions are.

"In some ways, I wish I wasn’t on TV for that side of my life. I could go into a bar and know if someone is looking at me and likes me for me, not just because I am on the telly.

Katie has swapped Corrie for Hollyoaks (Rochdale Observer)

"I get sent dirty pics all the time, but it’s like . . . no, block, delete. Each to their own, but I just don’t get it. I know lots of people have OnlyFans accounts now and, fair play to them, they're making a lot of money."

And while she says she's not "desperate for a man" Katie added it "would be a nice bonus, wouldn’t it?"

Katie also opened up about her time on Corrie and how she used to geel that she never " measured up to the other girls on Corrie looks-wise."

Katie had now swapped Weatherfield for Chester as she made her first Hollyoaks appearance this week.

She joins the Channel 4 soap as new character Becky, a mysterious newcomer who befriends Diane Hutchinson.

Speaking to Inside Soap, Katie described Becky as "massively" different from her Corrie character Sinead - and she even looks different.

Katie took the plunge and swapped her bright blonde locks for a dramatic brunette hair transformation.
