Former Coronation street star, 61, proposes to girlfriend on her 21st birthday

The former Coronation Street actor who played Brian Tilsely has proposed to his girlfriend at her 21st birthday party.

Chris Quinten, 61, popped the question to his girlfriend of seven months at the party held at the London strip club where they both work,  the Mirror reports.

Chris, who played Gail Platt's murdered husband in the soap in the 1980s, is now engaged to Robyn Delabarre after she said "yes".

To seal the deal, he took her on a romantic holiday in the Greek island of Mykonos.

Following the celebrations, Robyn said: "My husband to be! It’s been a CRAZY 7 months a secret we had to keep because of our jobs but you have made me the happiest girl alive.

"You're amazing to me. I’m so lucky to have you in my life. I’m so glad you're mine, I love you and I couldn’t care less what anyone has to say.

"I love you with all my heart. Thank you for doing everything you do for me Chris."

Chris now works as the manager of Secrets, a strip joint in London's Hammersmith, where a brief table dance with a nude woman costs £30.

Robyn previously dated tragic Love Island star Mike Thalassitis, who died earlier this year - both before and after his time in the Villa.

Chris was previously married to American talk show host Leeza Gibbons between 1989 and 1991.

He was a big name in the 1980s as soap fans avidly followed his relationship with Gail Potter, who is still in Corrie and played by actress Helen Worth.

His character was killed off in 1989 when he was stabbed to death by a gang of teenagers outside a nightclub.
