Former Coronation Street actor to demo at Nottingham Food and Drink Festival

He was known to millions of viewers as Martin Platt in Coronation Street - now actor turned chef and cheese-maker Sean Wilson will be cooking at the Nottingham Food and Drink Festival later this month.

He'll be taking over the 'super theatre' in the grounds of Wollaton Park on Saturday August 10, while the following day sees the return of French celebrity chef Jean Christophe Novelli.

The annual event comes packed with live demonstrations, stalls with goodies to take home and plenty in the piazza to keep the crowds fed and watered throughout the day.

Chef Mark Lloyd, a former presenter of the live shows, will get a turn up front this year showing off his own recipes which feature wild foods foraged from the countryside.

Also appearing will be local names, nutritionist Eva Humphries, aka the Wholefood Warrior, Liam Woodward from Eaton's Bar & Brasserie and the Snobby Butcher Johnny Pusztai.

Foodies will get the chance to stock up on brownies, coffee beans, sausage rolls, cheese, sausages, gin and a host of other delicious things to scoff.

Other attractions include real ales, wine tasting, live music, bushtucker trials, crafts, children's entertainment and workshops.

The festival will be open from 10am to 6pm. Advance tickets are available. Prices (for one day only) are adults £8, over 65s £3, children aged five to 15 £3 and family tickets £22, from nottinghamfoodanddrinkfestival.co.uk/box-office/
