Former cop cleared of child sex offences while working as Trinity College teacher

A Perth police officer has been found not guilty of indecently touching four boys when he was a teacher at a prestigious Catholic primary school in the 1980s.

Eamon Dominic Heary had been on trial in the District Court for the past week accused of indecently dealing with the boys during Year Four classes at Trinity College in East Perth.

The jury deliberated for about four hours before acquitting Mr Heary of all charges.

Mr Heary was a police sergeant in the Central Metropolitan District when he was charged last year.

He was stood down from operational duties pending the outcome of the case.
