Former Colts TE Erik Swoope to sign with Raiders

Former Indianapolis Colts tight end Erik Swoope will be signing a one-year deal with the Oakland Raiders.

After spending the majority of his career with the Colts, Swoope will be joining his second team since being waived during the 2018 regular season. He also spent a few days with the New Orleans Saints before being released.

A former basketball player at Miami (FL), Swoope was a project for the Colts that had some high upside. He missed the entire 2017 season with a knee injury and got lost in the mix during the 2018 season with the arrival of Eric Ebron and the emergence of Mo Alie-Cox.

Swoope did have a solid start to the 2018 season when he recorded three touchdown receptions in the team’s first seven games.

In 24 career games, Swoope has 23 catches for 384 yards and four touchdowns.
