Former college athletes destroyed the NCAA’s ‘a day in the life’ commercial

March Madness is a conflicting time for many sports fans.

It’s arguably the most exciting three weeks on the entire sports schedule, but it is also among sports’ most exploitive periods. The NCAA will be filling arenas and football stadiums with games being broadcasted thanks to multi-billion-dollar TV rights deals … all being played by unpaid athletes.

Over the course of those three weeks, the NCAA will push the narrative of how it helps athletes go pro in “something other than sports” and how it always has the best interest of the student-athlete in mind (tell that to Silvio De Sousa).

So, when the NCAA shared its latest ad campaign about a day in the life of a student athlete, former college athletes were quick to call out the commercial’s displaced sense of reality.

The replies from the ex-NCAA athletes were ruthless.

The NCAA continues to live in a fantasy.
