Former CM Kamal Nath demands 28% DA for Madhya Pradesh govt staff

BHOPAL: Reacting to chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's announcement to raise the dearness allowance (DA) of the state government employees by 8%, former chief minister and Congress leader Kamal Nath has said that his government had decided to raise the DA of employees by 5% on March 15, 2020 and they were supposed to get the benefit from April 1, 2020 though it was to be implemented with retrospective effect from July, 2019.

But after toppling of his government, Chouhan government kept the decision in abeyance for 19 months, much to the chagrin of employees. The central government employees are getting DA at the rate of 28% while the state government employees are only getting 12% DA.

Nath further said that he had written to the chief minister to remove this anomaly and declare 28% DA for the state government employees as well.
