A former church could be transformed into a recording studio, under new plans submitted to Sefton Council.
Crossens Methodist Church in Southport closed last year, after making the decision to join forces with the nearby church on Marshside Road.
Developer 1880 Ltd wants to transform the Rufford Road site into a recording studio, with office space.
Requested opening hours for the studio are 10am-10pm, seven days a week, while the offices will be occupied during standard office hours, Monday to Friday.
The proposed office space will house three Sefton businesses, a renewable energy developer; an ecommerce company; and a holistic company, which are currently based in rented space Lancashire.
There will also be some office and meeting space available to rent on a “varied basis”.
Documents on the council’s website said a host of soundproofing measures would be put in place, to protect nearby residential properties from disturbance.

1880 Ltd said the development would “make a valuable contribution” to the local economy “both directly and indirectly”, including the hiring of “planners, architects and local contractors”.
The development organisation went on to say plans would also allow meeting space “to be made available to support other local businesses”.
The recording studio, 1880 Ltd said, is a ”social objective for supporting strong, vibrant and healthy communities, and local musicians”
They also said the renovation of the former church would bring a valuable community asset back into use.
As well as the recording studio and office spaces, the plans include a breakout space, kitchen, storage room, and toilets.
