Former Chiefs OLB Justin Houston recorded 100th career sack in Ravens vs. Dolphins

A former Kansas City Chiefs player joined a very exclusive club during “Thursday Night Football.”

In the third quarter of the Baltimore Ravens’ tilt against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night, former Chiefs OLB Justin Houston took down QB Jacoby Brissett, notching his 100th career sack. In his eight seasons in Kansas City, Houston notched 78.5 of those sacks. He’s since managed 19 sacks in two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts and three sacks with the Ravens this season, totaling 100.5 career sacks.

Houston, 32, became the 58th player in NFL history to record 100 career sacks and 37th players in NFL history to eclipse that mark. He is also one of just four active NFL players to have 100 or more career sacks, joining Los Angeles Rams’ Von Miller (110.5), Arizona Cardinals’ Chandler Jones (103) and J.J. Watt (102).

Houston is now one of the six former Chiefs players to have eclipsed the 100 career sack mark, joining Terrell Suggs (139), Jared Allen (136), Leslie O’Neal (132.5), Derrick Thomas (126.5), and Neil Smith (104.5). The former third-round draft pick in the 2011 NFL draft out of the University of Georgia has made quite the NFL career for himself with several seasons of elite performance. He might be in the twilight of his career, but he’s still producing meaningful snaps for the Ravens, even if they didn’t get the win in Week 10.
