Former Kansas City Chiefs CB Brandon Flowers joined NFL Network’s “NFL Total Access” to offer his game-by-game Chiefs predictions for the 2019 season.
Flowers went through each game and offered up a reason for why the Chiefs would win or lose. Some of his reasons had to do with the opponent, while others had to do with the time of the season.
Ultimately Flowers feels the Chiefs won’t be quite the well-oiled machine they were a season ago. He has them dropping an extra game and finishing with a record of 11-5. Check out the video below to see which teams he has the Chiefs losing against.
He has the Chiefs starting off hot with consecutive road victories against Jacksonville and Oakland. When it comes to the home opener, Flowers believes that the Ravens will be out for blood because of the Chiefs’ victory over the Ravens in 2018.
Fast forward to Week 8 and Flowers has the Chiefs losing against Green Bay at Arrowhead Stadium in primetime. He thinks that Aaron Rodgers lifts the Packers over the Chiefs in a shootout situation.
Finally, during the last six games of the season, Flowers has the Chiefs dropping 3-of-6 games. They’ll lose to the Chargers, Patriots and Bears on the road.
Overall it seems like a solid prediction, but I have a hard time seeing the Chiefs losing any of their home matchups. Input from a former player is always intriguing, but one that played for two AFC West teams makes for some extra dramatics.
