Former Chicago Bears kicker Cody Parkey gets tryout with Colts

While it seems like the Chicago Bears have found an answer at kicker with Eddy Pineiro, Cody Parkey is still in search of work.

Parkey, who will forever be known as the guy that hit an upright four times in one game, was released by Chicago following a tumultuous season that culminated in the infamous “double doink” heard around the world.

Despite Parkey’s rough resume, he’s still getting tryouts from teams desperate for some answer to their kicker woes, even if it is only a temporary fix.

Parkey had a tryout with the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday, which also included former Bears kicker Elliott Fry, Younghoe Koo, Greg Joseph, Cole Hedlund and Chase McLaughlin.

Last season with the Bears, Parkey connected on 76.7 percent of his field goal attempts, where he missed seven kicks. He also missed three extra points.

Parkey had a tryout with the New York Jets, who are dealing with their own kicker woes, shortly before the start of the season.
