Former Chelsea wonderkid in line for Bayern Munich debut with Muller and Lewandowski absent

The former Chelsea academy player Jamal Musiala is in line to make his debut for Bayern Munich tomorrow evening after the Bavarians confirmed that the England Under-17 attacking midfielder will be part of Hansi Flick's matchday squad.

Musiala, who was born in Germany but holds dual citizenship and has represented both countries at underage level, has impressed for Bayern's second string in recent weeks.

Owing to Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski serving suspensions for the Bundesliga visit of Borussia Monchengladbach he has been confirmed as part of the matchday squad for Saturday's 6:30pm kick-off (5:30pm in London).

Deloitte predicts Premier League clubs will lose £1bn revenue this season

A win over Champions League-chasing Monchengladbach could see Bayern confirmed as champions for the eighth consecutive year depending on how Borussia Dortmund perform away to Fortuna Dusseldorf earlier in the afternoon.

Bayern are seven points clear with four games remaining, are into the final of the German cup for the third straight year and lead Chelsea 3-0 after the first leg of their delayed Champions League round of 16 tie.

Musiala joined Bayern from Chelsea last summer along with Bright Arrey-Mbi, signing a five-year contract after being convinced of there being a clearer pathway to first-team football at the German giants than with the Blues.

Since then he has impressed in performances for Bayern Munich II and the club's under-19 side this season.

The teenager, who moved to Chelsea from Lehnerz in 2013, can play both as an attacking midfielder or a striker and found the net twice in half an hour off bench for the second string against Zwickau last weekend.

Arrey-Mbi, a defender who Chelsea were also keen to keep, has also been training with Flick's first team and went on their winter break tour to Qatar.
