Former Chelsea striker delivers Tanguy Ndombele verdict that will worry Tottenham supporters

Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino has questioned whether Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has the ability to play in the Premier League.

The France international arrived in English football from Lyon last summer under quite a fanfare but has at times struggled to find consistency in his first season at Spurs.

Cascarino has pointed that out, highlighting how he hasn't completed 90 minutes for Spurs on many occasions and compared him to Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, who is on loan with Ligue 1 side Monaco.

“In the 24 games Ndombele has played for Tottenham this season, he has come on as a substitute or has been substituted in 19 of them," he wrote in The Times.

Jose Mourinho: I have no complaints about my players

“He reminds me of Tiemoue Bakayoko when he moved to Chelsea. He has lots of athletic ability but he just doesn’t seem to use it.

“He is not a passing player but he also doesn’t seem to have any endurance — Chelsea’s midfield walked all over him and Harry Winks.

“He came on against RB Leipzig with 25 minutes to go and he was lying on the floor at the end. He has been in England for six months now and I am not sure he is capable of getting up to the Premier League’s pace.”
