Former Chelsea sporting director Frank Arnesen has revealed what working for Roman Abramovich is really like.
The 63-year-old Dane spent six years at Stamford Bridge as sporting director after joining from Tottenham Hotspur in 2005.
His time at the club coincided with one of the most successful periods in Chelsea's history - and arguably the time that Abramovich was most prominently seen as Blues owner.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Arnesen - now at Feyenoord - offered an insight into what it is like to work under Abramovich.
"The first four years I was in my title I did everything for the under-21s," he said.
"After one year he wanted me to be involved in the first-team with Jose Mourinho, and then in the final two years, I was the official sporting director.
"The first manager I brought in was Carlo Ancelotti and that was the first year in the history of Chelsea that we won the double.
"Abramovich was fantastic.
"I was very happy, those six years I was there he listened and liked to learn everything about football.
"I had a beautiful time in those six years.
"I'd been in PSV for ten-and-a-half years, which was probably a bit too long, and I was happy to go to Spurs.
"I went to Chelsea and, after six years, I thought it was important to not make the same mistake, so then I went to Hamburg.
"When I said to Roman in November that I'd not be extending my contract at the end of the season, two things could have happened - he could have told me to pack my bags and leave or that he wanted me to stay until the end of the season, which I did.
"That says a lot about my relationship with Roman Abramovich."
