Former Chelsea goalkeeper on Eden Hazard’s hamburger habit and Thibaut Courtois’ big ego

Former Chelsea goalkeeper Marcin Bulka has described Thibaut Courtois as having a big ego while claiming that he would always see Eden Hazard eating hamburgers and pizzas during his time at Stamford Bridge.

The Polish stopper spent three years in West London before joining Paris Saint-Germain last summer.

While Bulka was a big fan of N'Golo Kante, describing the France midfielder as humble and down to earth, there was less love for Courtois.

“He has a big ego," Bulka told Foot Truck. “If he makes a mistakes, he goes to the coach and says stuff like: ‘This defender wasn’t in the right position, he should have done this and that.'

“He does not want to accept the fact that it was his fault.”

Hazard, who has spent much of his first campaign at Real Madrid out injured, has been accused of being overweight in Spain and Bulka believes that the 29-year-old has gone a "bit overboard" while detailing his eating habits at Chelsea.

“He loves hamburgers and pizza, I saw him all the time in pizzerias," Bulka added.

“He doesn’t care about anything other than football and having a good time.

“At Chelsea this wasn't a problem but at Real, especially with the recent injury, he probably went a bit overboard with the weight.”

As for Kante, Bulka joked that he would be capable of outrunning world record holder Eliud Kipchoge and remains unselfish despite all his success.

“Very humble guy, never shows off about anything," Bulka added. "Even when they won the World Cup, it was funny watching him awkwardly smile to the camera when everyone else was celebrating and singing with the fans.

“But he always wants others to shine. If he ran the marathon, he would probably beat that guy who just went under two hours.”
