Former Chelsea duo Pernille Harder and Magda Eriksson sign for Bayern Munich

Former Chelsea icons Pernille Harder and Magda Eriksson have signed for Bayern Munich.

The pair, who had more than 150 appearances between them for Chelsea, announced their departures before the end of the WSL season.

Eriksson, who captained her side in the six years she was at the club penned an emotional goodbye when she announced her departure, thanking fans through her tears.

Harder came back from injury towards the end of the WSL season to play a huge part in Chelsea's four consecutive WSL title, and the partnership between herself and Eriksson will be a huge hole to fill in Emma Hayes' side.

Reacting to her move, Eriksson posted on social media: "Very excited to join Bayern Munich. I can’t wait to get started."

While at Chelsea, the club captain has played an integral role in the Blues' domestic double this season, slotting into the backline to replace the injured Kadeisha Buchanan and Millie Bright.

Both players will join the Frauen-Bundesliga title-winning side, and also join Lioness Georgia Stanway at the club.

Harder and Eriksson make the move together as they approach their ten-year anniversary as a couple, and both pledge one per cent of their salaries to help tackle social issues in football.

They both signed for Bayern Munich on contracts keeping them at the club until 2026.
