Former Chelsea and Man United boss Jose Mourinho drops huge hint about his next managerial role

Jose Mourinho has dropped a hint that he could be heading to La Liga for his next managerial challenge.

The former Chelsea manager has been out of work since he was sacked as Manchester United boss last year and has been patiently waiting for a new challenge which appeals to him.

One job that he has been linked with is the Real Madrid head coach role as pressure continues to mount on Zinedine Zidane, and speaking at the launch of LiveScore and La Liga’s global partnership, Mourinho spoke proudly of his respect for the Spanish top flight.

He said: "The most important thing for me is that my next role is with an elite club that has an ambition which challenges and excites me.

"I miss coaching a lot, but I won’t return to working just for the sake of coaching again.

“I love La Liga and the pride I have to have won this fantastic league is massive.

“I may have left six years ago but trust me, spiritually, and in the manner I speak of La Liga, I am an ambassador even without the official title of ambassador.”
