Former Chargers LB Jeremiah Attaochu finds new home in AFC West

Former Chargers outside linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu has found his fourth NFL team as the Chiefs signed him on Monday, according to The Athletic’s Nate Taylor.

Attaochu played for the 49ers and Jets after his three-year stint with the Bolts. But now he will be facing his former team twice this upcoming season.

Attaochu was the Chargers second round pick in the 2014 NFL draft, where he was selected out of Georgia Tech University. The former Yellow Jacket had six of his 10 career sacks in 2015 when he made 12 of his 13 career starts.

In 2017, Attaochu played in just four games for L.A. on a defensive line that featured Pro Bowl pass-rushers Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram.

He struggled to stay healthy for the Chargers. Attaochu missed 14 games in his first three seasons and was sidelined for much of Los Angeles’ offseason program and training camp in 2017 with a hamstring injury.

In his four NFL campaigns with the Bolts, the former Georgia Tech product amassed 62 tackles (49 solo), 10 sacks, two passes defensed, and two forced fumbles.
