Former Celtic youth joins Wishaw to bolster West of Scotland League campaign

Former Celtic youth goalkeeper Jordan Hart has joined Wishaw until the end of the season and made his debut in Saturday's 2-2 draw with St Anthony's.

The 25-year-old arrives on loan from League One East Fife until the end of the season and brings a wealth of experience, having started out at Parkhead before spells in the lower reaches of the SPFL with Annan and Queen's Park.

His arrival follows the departure of Iain Stewart last month and an unfortunate moment for stand-in keeper Craig Rowan in last week's 3-3 draw with Lanark, when a late error gifted the visitors an equaliser.

Wishaw gaffer Daly feels it's a bit of a coup for his side to get Hart signed up at the Beltane and hopes he can help his side climb the table in West of Scotland Conference C.

Daly said: "We've got Jordan in and he'll be a top signing for us.

"He's played over 175 senior games and he played on Saturday.

"There wasn't really much he could do about the goals we conceded, but he'll give us some reassurances at the back.

"He started out with Celtic's youth team and he's a top player for this level and we are delighted to get him in.

"We had to work hard at it but hopefully with a few games under his belt he'll get to know the boys and help us get through games with his experience."

Wishy fought back from 2-0 to draw with St Anthony's thanks to goals from John Cunningham and Aiden Ward.

Daly added: "We got ourselves back into it and wee Wardy scored a wonder goal to get us level, but we never done enough to win the game.

"We showed a good bit of character to come back but it was disappointing we gave ourselves a mountain to climb."
