Carlo Walker reckons he won’t hold on to his latest signing for long after landing former Celtic hitkid Daniel McAllister.
The Maybole boss pounced for the 22-year-old midfielder who snubbed a new deal at Parkhead to pursue a soccer scholarship in Florida.
Now back home, McAllister is looking to get back on the football ladder and sees Maybole as the perfect launchpad.
Walker quipped: “I reckon it’s the first signing Maybole have made when the player lists his last club as Celtic.
“He was very highly rated when he left Ayr youths to sign for Celtic.
“He was a regular for their under 18s alongside Mikey Johnston and Stephen Welsh.

“In his last game, he was up against Mason Mount when Celtic played Chelsea in the Dubai Night Cup and although he was offered a new deal he wanted to try America.
“I don’t expect we will have Daniel for long but we will enjoy him when we can.”
Maybole, who have launched a new gold strip for their 75th anniversary – sponsors are Milestone Development and Advance Construction – have made a raft of signings.
New faces include keeper Ally Semple (Cumnock), Scott Dinwoodie (Craigmark), Michael Reilly (Irvine Meadow), Gavin Brown (ex-Clyde) and Lewis Kirkwood (Annbank).
